Ford Has Landmark Year

This past year was a landmark year at Ford, and they are determined to continue this trend through 2012. During 2011 the American automaker accomplished several advancements in high performance and green car technology.

The American automaker transformed their EcoBoost engine with an impressive 365-hp twin-turbo 3.5 liter V6. This powerful engine has been implemented in numerous Ford models, including their best-selling Ford F-150.

In 2012, EcoBoost will launch 1.6 and 2.0 liter models with optional powertrains that provide more mpg. The 2.0 is already in Explorer and will soon be in the Focus will be available at Huntington Beach Ford in Huntington at 18255 Beach Boulevard.

This past year also saw a reappearance of the legendary Mustang in production. "Rumors swirled for a year about a 600hp + GT-500 with a larger engine. Stories speculated it would have twin turbos or a larger supercharger. EcoBoost? Well in the end Ford made the big announcement that the 2013 Shelby GT-500 would get an increase to 5.8 liters," according to Mustang news.1

And lastly in 2011, the American automaker's Evos Concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Evos will not only feature key design elements for the forthcoming Fusion, but also may pave the way of future mustang models. The Blue Oval had a successful 2011, so let's cheers to 2012, and another monumental year for Ford.
