Next Generation Ford F-150 Greener Than Ever

2011 has been a great year for all of Ford's models, including both new and revitalized models. But, one model stood out from the others. The legendary Ford F-150 is now a top seller in the industry.

Huntington Beach Ford in Huntington has a wide selection of new and pre-owned F-150 trucks. The next generation of F-150s have a lot to be proud of.

Overall, "EcoBoost models accounted for 40 percent of all F-150 sales, which is impressive considering that the boosted mill comes with a $895 price premium compared to the very capable 5.0-liter V8. Still more impressive is the fact that Ford also sold plenty of 3.7-liter V6 models as well, and the overall take rate of V6 engines is over 50 percent on the year," according to Auto Blog.1

This year the American automaker daringly took the chance of discontinuing their long running Ford Ranger light duty pickup in favor of a larger F-150. But, the American automaker knew they had to make it as green as they could. And without a doubt, Ford engineers did just that. With a V6 boosted Eco-powerplant (initially released in 2009) the F-Series has grown up and made Papa Ford proud.

With V6-powered models selling so well, we expect serious foreign and domestic competition with environmentally friendly truck engines in the upcoming years.
