Ford is eager to produce an even smarter automobile. With cars like Ford Fusion Hybrid, which was recently unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, it is without question that the automaker is headed in the right direction!
Present variations of the Fusion are ready for you to test drive in Huntington, California at Huntington Beach Ford. But if you can wait, the forthcoming Ford Fusion will be an even more impressive MPG rated 4-door car. Claims have been made that this gas-electric hybrid gets 47 mpg city, outdoing EPA rating for all competition in its class.
The American automaker also has plans for a plug-in electric Fusion, as well as other plug-in electric models. The plug-in electric Fusion allegedly receives an equivalent of 100 mpg. Ford prides itself on the notion that it is the most fuel-efficient midsize vehicles in the world.
At this time the Ford Fusion is built just south of the border in Mexico. But, with such a high demand expected, production will also begin in one of the Blue Oval's Michigan factories. If successful, "The new Fusion may help Detroit drop what intransigence remains on fuel efficiency and explode with the technologically advanced cars everyone knew it could make,"1 according to The Boston Globe. We hope they're right!
