4 Safe Driving Tips You Should Follow

Whether you’ve been driving for decades or just a few years, it’s always smart to brush up on safe driving tactics. 1. Stash Away Your Cell Phone

In the modern age, cell phones have become a major road hazard for drivers. Answering a phone call or sending a text message takes your attention away from the road. Sadly, it only takes a few seconds of inattention to get into an accident.

Reduce distractions and minimize your urge to look at your phone by keeping it stashed away while driving. This can mean keeping it in the glove compartment, in the backseat, or even in the trunk while you’re driving. If you must answer a phone call, pull over to the side of the road before answering.

2. Eyes On The Road

4. Always Wear a Seatbelt

One of the most basic safety rules for drivers is often the one least followed. Before backing out of your driveway, make sure that you and all other passengers (including children) are wearing their seatbelt. If you have small children, make sure they are buckled into the appropriate car seats for their age and size. Don’t allow young children to ride in the front seat, as they can become injured by the airbag if it was to deploy during a collision. Also, make sure seat belts stay on for the entire trip.
