What is a Tire Alignment?

A tire alignment adjusts the orientation of your tires and your vehicle’s suspension. When you visit our Ford service center for a tire alignment, our seasoned technicians will review the angle and orientation of your tires to ensure they’re in an optimal position. To determine what needs to be corrected, they’ll review the following aspects:

  • Camber: This is the outward or inward tilt of your tires from a head-on view.
  • Toe: This is also the tilt of your tires, but from an overhead view.
  • Caster: This refers to how much your tires tilt toward or away from your steering wheel.

Why are Tire Alignments Important?

Aligned tires make a huge difference towards improving your safety and overall driving experience. If your tires are misaligned, you may notice some odd behaviors from your vehicle, such as a pulling sensation to the left or right or the inability to keep your vehicle straight on the road. These warning signs can be disconcerting and dangerous if not addressed immediately. Other side effects of a misalignment include uneven tread, squealing noises, and a rapid breakdown of your tires.

How Often Should You Get Your Tires Aligned?

If you experience any of these warning signs, it’s definitely time for a closer look from one of our Ford service experts. We’ll help you get your vehicle back on track.
